A new apartment on a very tight site in North Hobart provides the occupants with funky and contemporary accommodation just a stones throw away from a well renown restaurant strip. Views to downtown Hobart and beyond to the River Derwent, a sunny courtyard, and a secure perimeter make for a pleasant living experience in a very convenient location.
Completed : 2014
Builder : Smith Builders
Engineer : Gandy & Roberts Pty Ltd

The property was originally a workshop with a small backyard, located on a corner of land enclosed on three sides by streets.
The workshop was converted to M2a's architectural studio during 2009/10 and the apartment followed, completed in April 2014.
The Apartment is above and behind the studio, compactly responding to the confines of a small site and set-back respectfully from an historic property on the eastern boundary. The importance of creating a scaled infill to complete the streetscape was considered carefully during the design phase.
